"I like to TRY and keep fit which means like most people I have Nintendo Wii Fit that gathers dust in the corner and when I do occasionally dare to dust it off and step on that weight board it just tells me things I don't want to know.
Sea FrontI am a keen mountain bike rider but I have recently been reminded by a friend and client that at 26 you bounce but at 37 you just snap!
My career has meant I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit many interesting and thought provoking countries, including China (and very fortunate to have flown Business Class with the wonderful Cathay Pacific), America, and throughout Europe. However this life is only for the Single person in my opinion.
While only and I say it tongue in cheek 37 years old I have 20 years experience in Sales and Marketing. My first employment was with a local company in Rhyl, North Wales as a Sales Representative travelling all over North Wales (in some very bad suits looking back) managing their business customers. From those very early days in my career I saw myself becoming the best at what I did. In March 1997 I joined a company in Bolton who were struggling; I took that company from a turnover of £1.5 million to £8 million in 4 years with 35% gross profit.
By working in various organisations and working with clients all over the world since those early days I recognised that they were common factors in those that were successful and those that weren't.
The biggest factor in success or failure was Sales and Marketing.
My 20 years in Sales and Marketing at the highest level working with companies such as Disney, Tesco, Argos, WH Smith, Walmart, Kingfisher, having clients in 8 different countries, managing Sales & Marketing Teams (up to 75 persons) and attending seminars / courses costing tens £1000's means that have I have learnt and been able to successfully implement world class marketing techniques.
The familyHowever my young family and I live in North Wales and this is where I now help businesses achieve their objectives.
When I founded LGW Consulting I deliberately set out to be different than other consultants and I have achieved that. I don't charge by the hour / day I charge by the result and I 100% guarantee
my work. I use a simple methodology called Objectives / Measure / Value. What are the objectives, how can we measure it and what value will this bring.
I focus on improvements, not problem solving. Anyone can solve problems including most internal people. There are highly methodical approaches to problem solving, the result is the restoration of
standards that are expected. While this does form some of my work with clients frankly this has limited value. However, raising the bar (creating higher standards of performance) is extremely
valuable.
I have a passion for local business which is apparent in LGW Consulting's primary aim, which is to assist clients in improving individual and organisational performance. However my passion has also
given me the opportunity to work on worthwhile local projects including being a Co-founder and Director of the Rhyl Business Group.
Football Association of WalesI have also nearly completed my Football Association of Wales (FAW) Coaching Course with Rhyl Football Club (Welsh League Winners and Champion League Qualifiers) which gives myself responsibility for 4 - 16 year olds to help them through Football in The Community.
I also work on a number of local projects as a volunteer which help those with Social issues and also helps improve the services used by them.
All in all I have a passion for whatever I do whether that is in my professional or personal life. As my logo says, whatever I set about to do I ‘Make it Happen'
